How to Stay Motivated

Hi Healthy Living Junkies!

Staying fit and living a healthy healthy lifestyles can get monotonous after a while. I mean, you can only eat so much grilled chicken before you get tired of it. In order to stay motivated, you have to keep things exciting. I challenge you this week to inject some ENTHUSIASM into your fitness routine and clean eating meals. Like Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “”.

How do you stay motivated?  Change things up.

Instead of making the same meals every week, try a new recipe. There are so many different types of seasonings and spices to add flavor and excitement back into your foods.  One of my new favorite healthy meals is salmon patties. Take 2-3 oz of canned salmon, add 1/2 a stock of green onion, an egg, and a dash of salt and pepper.  Heat up a pan and cook for 1min each side. Serve open faced or on two thick slices of tomato with a side of green vegetables. Yummy!

Try using a different seasoning on your staple meals.  Add a little lemon zest to your chicken with sea salt and pepper and it adds a punch of flavor to your food.   Use a little curry powder, red pepper and light coconut milk and saute chicken onions and tomatoes and it is like taking a food journey to Thailand.  The possibilities are endless!  If you love sushi, try my Healthy Hawaiian Poke recipe, which uses sashimi grade tuna.  It is delicious!

One of my favorite ways to stay motivated with my workouts is to try a new class.  Sites like Groupon or Living Social has great deals where you can get a major discount on a classes and fun events.  Try a new Pilate or yoga class.  Try your hand at fencing or martial arts.  Take a kickboxing class.  Mixing up your workouts will also keep your body challenged and also make things fun and exciting.
